What is a Hybrid Tummy Tuck? - Orange County Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Ali Sajjadian

Orange County Tummy TuckDespite the fact that many women in Orange County tend to be in good shape and take relatively good care of their bodies, after pregnancy some women still feel like they need their tummy tucked or tightened up a bit. However, most of these women neither desire nor require the hip-to-hip incision that a traditional tummy tuck calls for. In this case there is an alternative procedure called the ‘hybrid tummy tuck’ that will offer great results with very minimal scaring.
When a women has a very fit pregnancy, they usually only have loose fasciae and a separation of the muscles but do not have significantly loose skin. The hybrid tummy tuck uses a C-section shaped incision in the very low abdomen. In fact, if a women already has a C-section scar, plastic surgeons will use that incision. Absolutely no additional incision is necessary, and therefore no additional scars are produced by the hybrid tummy tuck. The entire fascia is tightened up to the belly button, then around the belly button to the upper abdomen.
Another alternative to a traditional tummy tuck that may be well suited for women in Orange County is theendoscopic tummy tuck. This approach addresses all of the issues a hybrid tummy tuck does, but requires more points of incision and will yield more scaring. Additionally, there is no skin removal with the endoscopic tummy tuck, so someone with excessive loose skin would not be an ideal candidate for this procedure.
If you are a fit mom and are ready to get back to your “pre-baby” body, the hybrid or endoscopic tummy tuck might be an option for you. Only a board certified plastic surgeon like Dr. Ali Sajjadian of Orange County can help you determine your candidacy, so call today for a consultation!
